VE Day 75th Anniversary Celebrations in Debden May 8th 2020.

11.00 am – the RBL are asking for a 2 minute silence to remember those lost during WWII – this can be done in your homes or wherever you are. You can follow the days events on BBC1

2.55 pm -The Last Post will be played outside Yuva. You may attend but please make sure you stick to social distancing guidelines.
2.30-3pm – Residents of Deynes Road are having a stay at home, social distancing party/picnic in their front gardens with plenty of bunting. Others in different parts of the village are doing a similar thing to mark the celebrations.
3pm – The National Toast. Again you can follow on BBC1 or toast with neighbours over the garden fence, etc.
6.55 pm – Toast Master – Richard Cawte, will travel through the village in the back of a vintage Land Rover suitably decorated, for the ‘Cry For Peace’.
